Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this automation and instrumentation apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  •     Matric with Mathematics and Science
  •     Completed Diploma or N6 in Electrical (Light Current), Instrumentation, or Automation
  •     12-month internship experience
  •     Must submit a CV with academic transcript and qualification certificates
  •     Include a copy of your ID

Key Responsibilities

As an apprentice, you will be exposed to a wide range of technical and operational tasks, including:

  •     Basic use of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  •     Assisting in the development of reports, maintenance documentation, and project support
  •     Reviewing and updating electrical and network drawings
  •     Supporting breakdown repairs and restoration activities during the week and on weekends
  •     Assisting technicians and artisans with day-to-day operations
  •     Participating in R2S (Right to Start) Projects
  •     Performing calibration tasks as per Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
  •     Developing and documenting SOPs, SMPs, and One Point Lessons (OPLs)
  •     Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives such as internal and mock audits, WCM (World Class Manufacturing), and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) programmes
