The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is inviting unemployed graduates to apply for its Medical Management Internship 2026. This 12-month internship offers young graduates the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while developing practical skills in medical management, administration and stakeholder engagement.
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend while working alongside experienced professionals at the RAF’s Head Office.
About The RAF Medical Management Internship
The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide timely and equitable assistance to people affected by motor vehicle accidents through the provision of appropriate social benefits. As part of its commitment to youth skills development, the organisation offers internship opportunities that equip graduates with practical workplace experience.
The Medical Management Internship is aimed at unemployed graduates between the ages of 18 and 23. Applicants should note that the RAF will verify whether candidates have previously been employed anywhere within South Africa.
Medical Management Internship Responsibilities
Interns will gain exposure to a wide range of functions within the Medical Management Unit. Their responsibilities will include providing administrative and operational support, assisting with case management processes and supporting customer relations activities.
Duties will also include consolidating weekly and monthly reports from the RAF’s five regional medical management units, assisting with the analysis of medical operations systems and maintaining databases used by the Medical Management Unit.
Successful interns will help manage stakeholder queries and correspondence, redirect escalated matters to the relevant regional offices or managers and assist with monitoring complaint resolution turnaround times.
Additional responsibilities include supporting stakeholder engagement activities, preparing presentations, reports and briefing documents, coordinating communication between Head Office and regional teams and assisting with recruitment administration.
RAF Medical Management Internship Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the internship, candidates must submit the following documents:
- A certified copy of their Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences or a related qualification, Business Administration, Management or a Legal qualification.
- A certified copy of their South African ID.
- A certified copy of their academic transcript.
- An updated CV.
- A motivational letter.
Skills And Competencies
The Road Accident Fund is looking for candidates who demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities and attention to detail.
Applicants should be eager to learn, self-motivated and possess basic computer skills. The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a professional environment will be beneficial.
Candidates with a medico-legal background or an understanding of managed healthcare or clinical experience will have an added advantage.
RAF Internship Stipend
