This learnership provides hands-on technical training and workplace exposure while learners complete the nationally recognised Telecommunication Network Operations Learnership (SAQA ID 59057, NQF Level 4).
About the Ericsson Learnership Programme
The Ericsson Telecommunication Network Operations Learnership is aimed at motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in building a career in telecommunications, networking, and technical operations.
Successful candidates will receive practical on-site training and gain valuable industry experience while working alongside experienced professionals.
Learnership Details
– Duration: 12 months
– Location: East London, Eastern Cape
– Travel to sites across the Eastern Cape may be required after 4 to 6 months
– Monthly stipend provided
Applicants must currently reside in East London or surrounding areas.

What Learners Will Do
During the programme, learners will assist with:
– Installing cables, antennas, microwave dishes, and communication equipment
– Climbing towers and ladders safely under supervision
– Performing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on telecommunication systems
– Installing and repairing fibre optic, coaxial, and power cables
– Conducting audits and testing telecommunications equipment
– Following health and safety procedures
– Supporting team leaders with operational duties
– Completing Ericsson’s tower training programme
Learners may also be required to work shifts, weekends, or after normal business hours when necessary.
Minimum Requirements

– Grade 12 (Matric), preferably with technical subjects
– TVET qualifications in IT, ICT, low voltage systems, telecommunications, or digital electronics, OR
– A University of Technology qualification in ICT or Networking
