Unilever Millwright Apprenticeships 2026/2027

Multinational corporation Unilever is recruiting now for their Millwright Apprenticeship programme that is available now in Gauteng.

Applications are now open for a Millwright Apprenticeship Programme based at the Anderbolt Factory in Boksburg, Gauteng, offering aspiring artisans the opportunity to gain valuable technical training and hands-on industry experience.

This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about engineering, maintenance and manufacturing, and who want to develop the skills required to become a qualified Millwright.

About The Millwright Apprenticeship

The apprenticeship programme combines structured technical training with practical workplace experience under the guidance of qualified artisans and engineers.

Successful candidates will gain exposure to both mechanical and electrical systems within a manufacturing and production environment, building the knowledge and competencies required for a career in the engineering sector.

Participants will play an active role in supporting maintenance activities while learning industry standards, safety procedures and equipment troubleshooting techniques.

Millwright Apprentice Responsibilities

As part of the training programme, apprentices will:

  • Assist qualified Millwrights with the maintenance and repair of production machinery and equipment
  • Support fault-finding and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Participate in planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning projects
  • Learn and apply engineering standards and safe working procedures
  • Use engineering tools and measuring equipment safely and correctly
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within workshops and production areas
  • Complete apprenticeship logbooks, assessments and training requirements
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
  • Adhere to safety, quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards
  • Assist with the inspection and replacement of machine components and spare parts
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimise equipment downtime

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Millwright Apprenticeship Programme, applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science

The following qualifications and skills will be advantageous:

  • N2, N3 or relevant engineering studies
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles
  • Computer literacy

Applicants should also be willing to work shifts and overtime when required.
