Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership 2026 Now Open For Applications
Valterra Platinum is inviting applications for its Engineering Learnership Programme (Mechanician), offering aspiring artisans the opportunity to gain hands-on technical training in the mining industry.
This learnership is ideal for motivated young people who are passionate about engineering and eager to develop practical skills while building a long-term career in the sector.
Through structured training and workplace exposure, successful candidates will gain valuable industry experience while working toward a nationally recognised artisan qualification.
About The Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership
The learnership programme combines both theoretical learning and practical workplace training. Participants will receive technical instruction as well as real-world experience in engineering operations within the mining environment.
Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will qualify as artisans with a recognised trade qualification.

- Electrician

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following academic requirements:
- Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), Physical Science and English with a minimum of 40% in each subject
- N2 or higher qualification with the following subjects:
- Instrument Trade Theory or Industrial Instrument
- Industrial Electronics
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- NCV Level 4 in a relevant engineering trade with all subjects passed with a minimum of 40%

Applicants must submit the following documents when applying:
- Updated CV
- Certified copies of relevant qualifications
- Copy of South African ID
- Proof of residence (required for applicants from host communities and must be stamped by the relevant tribal office or municipality)

Preference For Host Communities
Preference will be given to suitably qualified applicants from host communities.
