Remuneration: R100 000 per annum (all-inclusive package)
Duration: Two (2) years’ internship contract. Appointment will be in accordance with the Conditions of Service of Ehlanzeni District Municipality

LABORATORY INTERNS: MICROBIOLOGY LAB x2, CHEMISTRY LAB x3 (Ref: Laboratory Services Internship)
Requirements: Grade 12 plus a relevant three-year National Diploma / B degree in Microbiology /Biotechnology / Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry.
Knowledge and Competencies:
- This role is ideal for an individual who possesses self-motivation, takes initiative, thrives in independent work settings, demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, can work with minimal supervision, and has strong communication and organisational skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365, Laboratory Information Management system and ISO 17025.
Key Performance Areas:
- Knowledge and ability of water testing procedures and laboratory techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment Micro lab/Chem lab
- Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling practices.
- Ability to prepare reagents, standards, and laboratory solutions accurately.
- Experience with recording, analysing and reporting test results.
- Knowledge of water quality standards and environmental regulations is an advantage.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Conditions:
- Applicants should be between the age of 18-35 years;
- South African citizens;
- Must be willing to sign an internship agreement.
