About the Eskom Hospitality Learnership
The hospitality learnership will support the Executive Chef with the daily operational and administrative running of the kitchen. Learners will gain hands-on experience in food preparation, customer service, stock control and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Learners will be exposed to leadership and management practices within a professional hospitality environment. Responsibilities include:
• Preparing and producing food
• Controlling and managing stock levels
• Providing administrative support within the department
• Delivering quality customer service
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards
• Assisting with the implementation of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) requirements
Learning Outcomes and Skills Development
During the learnership, participants will develop skills in:
• Leadership and people management
• Time management and performance management
• Basic financial understanding related to hospitality operations
• Food and beverage services
• Hygiene, maintenance and quality standards
• Effective verbal and written communication
Behavioural Competencies
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership potential, the ability to perform under pressure, and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
Minimum Requirements
• National Diploma or National N Diploma in Catering Management, Hospitality and Catering Services, or a Hotel School qualification
• Qualification must be at NQF Level 6 with a minimum of 240 credits
• No previous work experience is required
