The national Department of Tourism is recruiting now for a wide range of 24-month internships that pay R7,450 per month.
The Department of Tourism is inviting South African graduates to apply for its 24-month Internship Programme for 2026–2028.
This full-time opportunity is based in Pretoria, and successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R7 450.58. The programme aims to give graduates practical workplace experience in fields aligned with the department’s core functions.
Graduates can apply for internships in a wide range of study areas, including Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, Digital Transformation, Human Resources, ICT, Law, Auditing, Public Management, Psychology, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, Data Science and several others.

Applications must be addressed to the Director-General and delivered to Tourism House in Sunnyside, Pretoria, posted to Private Bag X424, Pretoria, or emailed to internshipadmin2026-28@tourism.gov.za. When applying, candidates must clearly indicate the reference number linked to their field of study.
Applicants must submit a completed and signed Z83 form along with a detailed CV. Certified copies of qualifications and identity documents will only be required from shortlisted candidates.
To qualify, applicants must be unemployed South African graduates or postgraduates, under the age of 35, and must not have previously participated in any internship programme. Applicants should also include an academic record or list of modules with their CV.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interviews, and only those contacted within three months of the closing date should consider their application successful. The selected interns will sign a 24-month contract and gain valuable professional experience within the Department of Tourism.
