Toyota is inviting unemployed South Africans to apply for its Learner Maintenance Programme based at the Prospecton plant in Durban. This contract Learnership gives young people the chance to gain hands-on experience in a world-class manufacturing environment while completing structured training.
About The Learnership
The programme provides practical and theoretical training that covers essential manufacturing and maintenance skills. During the Learnership, participants will learn how to work effectively in a team, follow safety procedures, use hand tools, read assembly and manufacturing drawings, and carry out marking-off and welding tasks. Learners will also be trained to operate and monitor production machines, prepare work surfaces, manage operations, handle dispatch tasks, and complete basic fire-fighting training.
Once the programme is successfully completed, learners will receive an NQF Level 3 qualification.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must hold a National Technical Certificate (N3 – N6) or a Matric/Technical Matric with Maths and Physical Science or Engineering Science. Subjects such as Electrical Trade Theory, Mechanical Trade Theory, Motor Trade Theory, Mechanical Drawing or Graphical Design will also be considered.

To succeed in this Learnership, candidates should have strong communication skills, good planning and organisational abilities, adaptability, analytical thinking, and the ability to gather and process information accurately.
