Bus Driver Trainee Programme With Buscor

The Buscor Bus Driver Development Programme 2025 is open now for young people who would like to qualify as professional bus drivers.

Buscor (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications for its Driver Development Programme – an exciting training opportunity designed to develop young, professional bus drivers and promote road safety in South Africa. This initiative aims to empower unemployed youth with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to build sustainable careers in the passenger transport industry.

About the Programme

Buscor’s Driver Development Programme focuses on preparing participants to become qualified and safety-conscious bus drivers. Successful candidates will undergo practical and theoretical training to obtain their Code C/EC Driver’s Licence and Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP), opening doors to employment opportunities within the transport sector.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be unemployed.
  • Must possess a valid Code C1 Driver’s Licence.
  • Must be between the ages of 22 and 35.
  • Must have passed Grade 11 (or equivalent).
  • Must have no criminal record.
  • Must be medically and physically fit to drive a heavy motor vehicle (bus).
  • Must be a South African citizen living within one of Buscor’s operational areas.
  • Must be committed to building a long-term career as a Professional Bus Driver.

Required Documents

  • Police Name Clearance Certificate.
  • Certified copy of your South African ID.
  • Certified copy of your Grade 11 Certificate or latest school report.
  • A one-page Motivation Letter explaining your career goals and how obtaining a Code C/EC Driver’s Licence and Professional Driver’s Permit will help you become a professional bus driver.
  • Proof of residence (showing that you live in one of Buscor’s operational areas).
