Joburg City Theatres (JCT), an agency of the City of Johannesburg, is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed youth to gain skills and hands-on experience in the live event industry. Applications are now open for the 2025 Technical Live Event Learnership Programme based at Joburg Theatre.
This initiative aims to support skills development among young people in Johannesburg by offering training and practical experience in technical live event production. Successful candidates will work toward obtaining a nationally recognised NQF Level 4 qualification.

Purpose of the Programme:
The goal is to equip participants with real-world skills in the theatre and live events sector, particularly in technical production. Learners will attend structured training classes while gaining practical work experience behind the scenes at Joburg Theatre.
Minimum Requirements:
• Completed Grade 10, 11 or 12
• Aged between 18 and 35
• Must be currently unemployed
• Must reside within the City of Johannesburg
• Passion for technical production in the live events industry
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
