About the Programme
South Africa continues to face a high youth unemployment rate — with 45.5% of young people aged 15 to 34 currently unemployed, compared to the national average of 32.9% (Q1 2024). The GIBS YES Programme aims to tackle this challenge by providing practical workplace experience to equip young people with the tools they need to thrive in the job market.
Through this 12-month programme, which runs from January 2026 to January 2027, participants will gain hands-on experience in a professional environment, earn a monthly stipend, and develop skills that open doors to future employment.

Who Can Apply?
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must:
- Be unemployed.
- Be aged between 18 and 35 (not turning 35 before 31 December 2025).
- Be a South African citizen by birth or naturalisation.
- Reside in Gauteng.
Additional Requirements:
- Must not have participated in a YES Programme previously.
- A university degree (NQF 7) with strong quantitative skills will be advantageous.
- Must have good English communication skills.
- Be available to work a 40-hour week (Monday to Sunday) with two consecutive days off, including some evening shifts (16:30 to 21:30).
- Be ready to start in January 2026.
