UJ Arts & Culture CATHSSETA Internships 2025–2026 Now Open
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) Arts & Culture is inviting applications for its CATHSSETA-funded Internship Programme, offering graduates the chance to gain valuable workplace experience in the arts, culture, and creative industries. This initiative is designed to help young talent develop industry-relevant skills while contributing to UJ’s dynamic arts and culture environment.
There are 17 internship positions available, starting in December 2025 and running for 12 months, with a monthly stipend of R5,000 (subject to statutory deductions). Applications close on 26 August 2025 at 12:00 midday — no late applications will be accepted.
Available Internship Opportunities:
- Copywriting (4 positions) – Gain experience writing for social media campaigns, adverts, press releases, and online articles. Skills developed include writing, creative thinking, planning, organisation, and computer literacy.
Minimum requirement: Postgraduate degree or relevant qualification in journalism or copywriting from a public university. - Multimedia (10 positions) – Learn to animate content for social media, record and edit interviews, and produce showreels. Develop skills in video production, animation, editing, creative thinking, and innovation.
Minimum requirement: Postgraduate degree or relevant qualification in multimedia from a public university. - Performing Arts Administration (2 positions) – Assist with programme and project planning, coordination, and administrative systems. Gain skills in event coordination, communication, and creative problem-solving.
Minimum requirement: Postgraduate degree or relevant qualification in performing arts from a public university. - Hospitality (1 position) – Be part of the Front-of-House team, managing venues, bars, coffee shops, and events. Learn stakeholder communication, event planning, and customer service.
Minimum requirement: Postgraduate degree or relevant qualification in hospitality management from a public university.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience while being mentored by industry professionals.
