The programme seeks to place the graduate intern in specific areas within TNPA according to their academic background, career aspirations and business requirements.
About the Transnet Internship Programme
The Transnet Graduate Internship Programme is designed to support recent graduates in building a solid foundation for their careers. Interns will be placed in departments that align with their academic qualifications, personal career goals, and the operational needs of TNPA.
Successful candidates will follow a structured training plan, undergo regular performance reviews, and gain exposure to real-world business operations within South Africa’s leading port authority.
What You Will Do:
Kickstart your career with Transnet National Ports Authority by joining our structured graduate training programme. This is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates and aspiring professionals seeking entry-level experience in a dynamic and professional environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in a structured training and development programme.
- Undergoing regular performance assessments and reviews.
- Completing all duties outlined in the development programme and any additional responsibilities as reasonably required by the Transnet National Ports Authority.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
We are recruiting graduates for the following departments:
- Supply Chain Management Department
- Minimum qualification: National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management
- Port Management Department
- Minimum qualification: National Diploma or Degree in Corporate Communication, Public Relations, or Journalism

General Requirements:
- Age: 18–35 years old
- Must be a South African citizen
- No prior work experience required in the field of study – this is an opportunity for new graduates
