The City of Cape Town is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for those interested in a career in Road Traffic Law Enforcement! We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for our Traffic Officer Learnership programme.
Metro Police and Traffic Officer Learnership
- Training Start Date: 7th January 2026
- Training Duration: 18 months until 30 November 2026
- Allowance: R36.66 per hour

Learnership Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification (of which documentary proof must be furnished)
- Be a permanent resident within the City of Cape Town
- Br proficient in English and at least one other official language
- Currently unemployed (Students and EPWP staff eligible to apply)
- be at least 18 years old and under 35 years old
- Must be medically and physically fit to undergo strenuous physical training.
- Must be able to work in a team and cope with stressful situations
- No criminal record
- Must have a valid driving licence minimum code B (manual transmission)
- Trainees must successfully complete the Further Education and Training Certificate: Road Traffic Law Enforcement as well as Law Enforcement Skills Programme SP4/2012
- No tattoos which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the service.
