Human Rights Reactors, Vhembe District
CHOiCe Trust, a Non-Profit organisation operating in Limpopo Province, is seeking the services of Human Rights Reactors who will be responsible for the provision of quality support services to MSM (men who have sex with men) as a key population in Vhembe District, Limpopo. The Human Rights Reactor (HRR) is responsible for identifying human rights cases, documenting, making referrals and ensuring linkages for interventions for identified clients. This is an essential component of the HIV prevention programme amongst MSM.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
The appointed individual is expected to have the following experience and qualifications:
- A Matric certificate
- Social Auxiliary Worker qualification in a related field will be highly advantageous.
- 10 days HTS training certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position
- Very high-level understanding of key populations especially MSM.
- Significant up to date knowledge of HIV and AIDS and TB and STIs and appropriate response to them.
- Advanced computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Organising and reporting skills.
- Ability to act with integrity and honesty in the performance of all functions.
- Results-oriented, professional, accountable, and proactive
- Ability to communicate in local languages.
- COVID 19 vaccination certificate.
The Human Rights reactor must be able to work independently, be detail-oriented and deadline driven. They must be able to work towards the provision of overall data accuracy and reaching programme targets.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement human rights programme activities including anti-stigma and discrimination campaigns, dialogues and promotions; case finding amongst MSM with regards to human rights issues; and strengthening HIV related legal support services regarding the MSM key population
- Achievement of human rights project targets
- Support behavioural interventions
- Monitoring and Reporting
- General support
