Job Description:
Monitoring and controlling systems and processes in a centralized control room.
Job Summary:
– Monitor and control equipment, systems, and processes in a centralized control room
– Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes
– Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions
– Make decisions and take actions to prevent or mitigate equipment / system failures, process upsets, and safety incidents
– Communicate effectively with other operators, Security Officers, maintenance personnel, management and clients
– Perform routine tasks and procedures to maintain equipment and systems
– Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Responsibilities:
– Monitor and control equipment, systems, and processes in real-time
– Identify and respond to alarms and abnormal conditions
– Operate equipment and systems according to procedures and protocols
– Make decisions and take actions to prevent or mitigate equipment failures, process upsets, and safety incidents
– Communicate effectively with other operators, Security Officers, maintenance personnel, management and clients
– Perform routine tasks and procedures to maintain equipment and systems
– Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
– Maintain accurate records and logs
– Collaborate with other teams to achieve operational goals and objectives
Requirements / Essential Skills:
– High school Matric Certificate
– Strong understanding of equipment, systems, and processes
– Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
– Speak English fluently
– Write English with good grammar and spelling skills
– Type at least 30 words per minute
– Computer literacy
– Good telephone etiquette
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
– Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm and collected
– Physical ability to work in a control room environment (e.g., sitting, standing, walking)
– Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Desirable Skills / Pluses:
– Technical certification or degree in a related field (e.g., instrumentation, electrical, mechanical)
– Diploma and / or degree
– CCTV offsite monitoring programs and software experience . Please list software platforms
– PSiRA accreditation
– Experience in a control room environment and / or call centre environment
– Ambition, positive attitude, friendliness, hardworking, willing to ‘go an extra mile’
What We Offer:
– Salary range R8,000.00 – R12,000.00
