About the Bidvest Unitary Installer Learnership
The programme forms part of Bidvest’s commitment to skills development and job creation. It combines theoretical instruction, hands-on practical training and supervised workplace exposure.
The learnership is aligned to the QCTO Occupational Qualification 103269 and aims to develop competent entry-level professionals who are ready to pursue employment in the facilities management and HVAC sectors.
Learnership Details
Location: Olifantsfontein, Gauteng
Contract type: Fixed-term learnership contract
Duration: 12 months
Key Learning Areas
During the learnership, successful candidates will receive training in:
– HVAC principles and system fundamentals
– Installation and commissioning of unitary HVAC systems
– Occupational Health and Safety, including Working at Heights
– Basic electrical and mechanical skills
– Correct tool usage and fault identification
– Workplace professionalism and regulatory compliance
Training includes classroom-based learning, practical skills development and supervised on-site workplace experience.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
– NQF Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification, or Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (compulsory)
– Be between 18 and 34 years old
– Be in good physical health and medically fit for site-based work
– Willing and able to work at heights (training provided)
– Have a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
– Be willing to learn, work with tools and follow technical instructions
– Physically able to work in plant rooms, rooftops and construction environments
– Committed to following health and safety regulations
Certification
All training and assessments are conducted in line with QCTO requirements. Only learners who successfully complete the training, workplace exposure, assessments and medical fitness requirements will be eligible to receive certification.
