Looking to start a career in retail? The Building Company is offering a Wholesale and Retail Learnership. This is a great opportunity for unemployed youth to gain practical work experience while earning a nationally recognised qualification.
Learnership Overview
This structured learnership programme combines classroom-based training with hands-on workplace experience in a retail environment. Participants will work towards a qualification aligned with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), while developing valuable skills for the retail industry.
What You Will Learn
During the BUCO learnership, participants will:
– Attend all required theoretical training sessions
– Complete assessments, assignments and a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) in line with W&RSETA requirements
– Gain practical experience in retail operations, including:
– Assisting customers and providing basic customer service
– Merchandising and restocking shelves
– Supporting point-of-sale (POS) operations
– Maintaining store cleanliness and housekeeping standards
In addition, learners will be expected to follow company procedures, comply with health and safety regulations, and keep accurate records of their workplace experience.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify applicants must:
– Be unemployed and eligible for a W&RSETA learnership
– Have a minimum qualification of Grade 12
– Possess basic numeracy and literacy skills
– Be a South African citizen
– Have a clear criminal record
– Be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
– Not have previously completed an unemployed learnership
