Transnet Corporate Centre is inviting applications for its Work Integrated Technical Learner (WIL) Programme. This 12-month internship opportunity is designed to provide practical workplace experience to students who have completed their theoretical studies and require in-service training.

About the Transnet WIL Programme
The Transnet Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme offers structured, hands-on training to help students and recent graduates apply their academic knowledge in a real-world work environment. The programme aims to improve employability by providing industry exposure, mentorship and practical skills development.
This internship runs for a period of 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Assist with departmental projects and specific work-stream activities
- Perform routine operational duties under supervision
- Support administrative tasks, including documentation and reporting
- Participate in training sessions, workshops and mentorship programmes
- Shadow experienced professionals to gain practical industry insights
- Engage in problem-solving activities to develop analytical skills
- Interact with internal teams, customers and suppliers
- Provide progress updates on assigned tasks and projects
- Conduct research, data collection and analysis to support business decisions
- Prepare reports and presentations using MS Office tools
- Assist with process improvement initiatives
- Comply with company policies, safety regulations and ethical standards
- Maintain confidentiality and professional integrity
Minimum Requirements
- University of Technology student
- BEng Tech qualification
- S4/S5 completed with all theoretical subjects passed in Electronics and Industrial fields
- Must be a South African citizen
- No bursary obligation
- Recent proof of confirmation letter from the institution
- Certified copies of Matric certificate, academic record and South African ID
Preference will be given to South African youth under the age of 35 and to people with disabilities.
