Seta internships are available now for the construction sectors training authority, Ceta. Ceta is responsible for organising training programmes for all jobs in the construction sector and thereby raising the education levels of employees in the sector.
Ceta is inviting unemployed youth to apply for one of 17 internship programmes that are open now.
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is offering an exciting Internship Programme for graduates seeking practical workplace experience within the public sector. This internship provides hands-on exposure across various units and divisions, helping young professionals develop essential administrative and organisational skills.
About the CETA Internship Programme
Interns will be placed within specific departments where they will receive structured training and rotational exposure. The programme is designed to ensure that interns gain meaningful experience across different functions within the organisation.
Progress will be formally reviewed at the end of each quarter to support professional development and skills growth.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be exposed to the following duties:
- Perform entry-level administrative and functional tasks within the assigned unit
- Handle correspondence, enquiries, and maintain records and filing systems
- Provide administrative support during budgeting processes
- Assist with information gathering for audit preparation
- Collate data and contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting
- Prepare meeting agendas and take minutes
- Assist in preparing at least one presentation per quarter
- Carry out duties delegated by supervisors and managers
The rotational structure ensures interns are exposed to a variety of tasks within a department, allowing for comprehensive learning and development.
Core Competencies And Skills Development
During the internship, participants will develop:
- Knowledge of CETA as a public entity and its role within the SETA landscape
- Understanding of the organisation’s purpose, mandate and strategic objectives
- Relevant theoretical knowledge linked to their assigned functional area
- Basic knowledge of key regulatory frameworks and legislation, including the Skills Development Act, SDLA, PFMA, tax legislation, BBBEE, Employment Equity and Affirmative Action
