Absa Unemployed Learnership Programme 2026: Trainee Financial Adviser (FAIS)
Absa is offering an exciting Unemployed Learnership opportunity for aspiring Financial Advisers in Mpumalanga. This 12-month learnership is based in Nelspruit and forms part of Absa’s commitment to empowering Africa’s future by developing skilled professionals in the financial services sector.

About the Learnership
This Face-to-Face Financial Adviser (FAIS) Learnership is aimed at unemployed graduates who have completed a qualification in Finance, Accounting or Law. The programme combines structured learning with practical, on-the-job experience, enabling learners to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world banking environment.
The learnership runs for 12 months and is offered on a full-time, hybrid basis.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Areas
As part of the Absa Learnership Programme, participants will:
– Take part in structured training and development initiatives
– Perform daily tasks aligned to business and learning objectives
– Apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and compliance
– Support customer service and deliver a positive client experience
– Assist with administrative duties, reporting and record-keeping
– Work sales leads to achieve agreed productivity and performance targets
– Maintain confidentiality and comply with FAIS and regulatory requirements
FAIS Requirements
This role is subject to FAIS Fit and Proper requirements. Successful learners will be required to meet regulatory standards, including:
– FSCA-approved qualification
– Regulatory Examination for Representatives (RE5) (advantageous)
– Product-specific and Class of Business training once onboarded
– Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
– Demonstrated honesty, integrity and good standing
Minimum Requirements
– Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field
– National Senior Certificate (Matric)
– Must be unemployed
– Willingness to learn and grow within the financial services environment
