The Local Government Seta is offering 24-month internships for SA youth, in locations across the country. These government internships pay R10,000 pm stipend.
The Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) is inviting young, qualified South Africans to apply for its 2025/2026 Internship Programme.
The LGSETA, established under the Skills Development Act, plays an important role in developing skills within the local government sector. This internship provides an opportunity for graduates to gain valuable workplace experience over a 24-month period.
Minimum Requirements
• Matric certificate
• Completed 3- or 4-year degree or Advanced Diploma in the relevant field
• Computer literacy (MS Office essential; MS Project is an advantage for some fields)
• South African citizenship
• Under the age of 25
• No previous internship experience
• No prior work experience in your field of study
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to commit to a 24-month, non-renewable internship contract
• Good organisational, interpersonal and time-management skills
• Full-time employment after the programme is not guaranteed
The stipend for the programme is R10 000 per month over the 24-month duration.
You must only apply for an internship in the province where you currently reside.
