The Department of Tourism, in partnership with Harambee, is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed youth to join the Professional Cookery Learnership Programme. This 12-month programme is designed to open doors for young people in the hospitality and tourism sector. Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
About the Learnership
- Duration: 12 months
- Successful candidates will be required to sign a contract for the full training period
- Shortlisted applicants will undergo an interview to assess suitability
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you do not hear back within two weeks of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful
Minimum Requirements
- South African youth aged between 18 and 35 years
- Matric certificate with fluency in English (a Tourism or Hospitality qualification will be an advantage)
- Submit a CV accompanied by a motivational letter
- Certified copy of your South African ID
- Certified copies of all relevant certificates
- Proof of residence
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- A genuine passion for tourism, hospitality, and professional cookery
- Candidates who previously participated in Department of Tourism learnerships or skills programmes must declare this in their motivational letter
