The South African National Parks (SANParks), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, is inviting applications for the Tourism Monitors Internship Programme. This seven-month programme offers training and work experience opportunities for unemployed youth across various national parks in South Africa.
Programme Overview:
250 participants will be appointed to take part in the SANParks Tourism Monitors Programme. The programme is part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and provides both theoretical training and hands-on practical experience. Successful candidates will receive a daily stipend of R200.00 and must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Kruger National Park
Mapungubwe National Park
Mokala National Park
Mountain Zebra National Park
Table Mountain National Park

Minimum Requirements:
• South African citizen with a certified copy of ID
• Aged between 18 and 35
• Must be unemployed
• Minimum qualification: Matric or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
• A qualification in tourism or an environmental field is an advantage
• Must live within 40km to 100km of one of the listed parks (proof of residence required)
• Must have reliable transport to and from the worksite
• Applicants must be physically fit – fitness tests may be required (run, pushups, sit-ups)
• Must have a genuine interest in the tourism industry
• Only one applicant per household may apply
• No affidavits accepted as proof of residence
