There are 24-month government internships available now with the KZN Department of Agriculture for young unemployed South Africans. Applications are open now.
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is inviting unemployed graduates to apply for its 24-month Internship Recruitment Programme, which will run from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028.
This programme is designed to equip graduates with practical workplace experience in fields where skills are in short supply, helping improve their chances of securing long-term employment.
There are 62 positions available for degree and diploma graduates who live in KZN. There are 30 different qualifications that are eligible for this internship.
Interns will receive on-the-job training, mentorship and a monthly stipend. The programme offers exposure to real projects and day-to-day operations within the department, preparing participants for future careers in both the public and private sectors.
Graduates can apply for opportunities across several disciplines, including agriculture, engineering, science, management, HR, IT and communications. Applications must be submitted to the Provincial, South or North Service Centres as listed in the official advert. All required documents must be submitted before the closing date of 5 December 2025. Late applications will not be considered.
