The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) has opened applications for its GEPFuture Internship Programme. This graduate internship programme offers unemployed graduates valuable workplace experience in various fields, running from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028.
The GEPF internship programme is designed to help young South Africans gain practical exposure and improve their employability within the public sector.

Who Can Apply For The GEPF Internship Programme?
To qualify for the GEPF internships, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an unemployed South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Have completed at least a three-year Degree or National Diploma.
- OR have passed all coursework and require workplace exposure to complete a qualification.
- Have a minimum average of 60% at undergraduate level (final year).
- Have a minimum average of 55% at postgraduate level.
Students who still need to complete their Degree or National Diploma are not eligible to apply.
Important Conditions To Note
- Applicants who have previously participated in an internship programme or who have formal work experience in their field of study will not be considered.
- Applicants must apply only for internships related to their qualifications.
- The institutions where applicants studied must be clearly indicated on their CV.
- Preference will be given to candidates who studied at previously disadvantaged higher education institutions.
- Preference will also be given to people with disabilities, in line with employment equity principles.
- GEPF does not provide accommodation for interviews or for successful candidates.
- Any false information provided may result in termination of the internship contract.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you have not been contacted within one month of the closing date, your application should be regarded as unsuccessful.

Applicants must email the following documents:
- A CV not longer than two pages
- Certified copy of your ID
- Academic transcripts
- Copies of relevant qualifications
Your CV must clearly indicate your undergraduate or postgraduate average mark.
Applications must be emailed to the address listed next to the internship position you are applying for. The subject line must clearly state the programme name, for example: “Application: Investments Intern”.
